I'm not entirely happy with it... the left cheek is too wide, the right cheekbone looks funny,... but yes, considering that it's the first portrait I've ever painted, I'm satisfied.

CONGRATS on your first portrait. !
You made him look happier, and the skin/hair color is a really good interp. ..But the lighting.. I think it could have been a lot better from the reference stage. +_+

you're probably right. I didn't really want to make the shadows quite as sharp and copntrast-y as in my pic (which I discovered I only uploaded a thumb... darn) but yeah.... as I said, it's a first, and as such I approve. Now I can do better next time ^^
